Fipso forms ham joint venture with Germany’s Sauels

France-based pork helpful Fipso and German gathering Sauels have framed a joint dare to create ham items from another plant.

The JV office is situated in Brive-la-Gaillarde, south-west France and will exchange under the name So'Ham. The plant is supposed to enter administration in April following a venture of EUR25m (US$27.4m) and the making of 120 positions. It will have a limit of 10,000 tons every year.

Family-possessed Sauels, situated in Düsseldorf, supplies cooked ham for retailers' private-mark business in France. Fipso overseeing chief Patrick Le Foll said the restrict with a French-beginning pork maker of comparable size will fortify its situation on the public market.

Fipso has practical experience in Germany cured meats market ham items like jambon de Bayonne and to date has not been dynamic in the cooked ham fragment, which represents 33% of pork utilization in France and where creation is concentrated around a few driving brands.

So'Ham is focusing on a yearly turnover of something like EUR50m in providing "mid-to top-of-the-range items to private-mark brands," Le Foll added.

Fispo works three creation plants and utilizes 400 staff. It has a yearly turnover of EUR170m.
