PERU: Nestle acquires ice-cream assets from Alicorp

Settle has procured a grip of ice-cream resources from Peruvian food processor Alicorp.

The world's biggest food producer has obtained ice-cream creation hardware as well as business data connected with Alicorp's Lamborgini and Eskimo brands in an arrangement worth US$16.7m, in addition to burden. In any case, Nestle, which drives the Peru Impulse ice-cream market with its D'onofrio range, didn't buy the two Alicorp brands.

Alicorp procured Lamborghini in 2004, when it retained the Peruvian ice-cream maker and wholesaler Alimentum. After three years, it procured Eskimo from the eponymous Ecuadorian firm that later became Alicorp Ecuador.

Reports in Peru said Alicorp has consented not to effectively take an interest in the ice-cream business for a considerable length of time as a feature of the deal. Nonetheless, Alicorp has not remarked on the reports.
