Maplehurst Bakeries, an auxiliary of Canadian food processor George Weston, is to buy the Keystone Bakery business.

The procurement of the US producer and provider of frozen cupcakes, doughnuts and treats to in-store pastry kitchens and food administration channels cost US$185m.

Cornerstone Bakeries involves three working organizations: Freed's Bakery of Manchester, Granny's Kitchens of Frankfort, and Heartland Baking of DuQuoin.

The exchange is dependent upon US administrative endorsement.

Galen Weston, the administrator and leader of Weston said: "I'm exceptionally satisfied to invite Keystone Bakeries and the workers of Freed's, Granny's and Heartland toward the Weston Group. The blend of Keystone Bakery and Weston's heating up tasks in the United States and Canada will permit us to more readily serve our clients in the North American sweet Canada savory baked goods area."
