UK: Dr Oetker acquires Schwan pizza arm

Dr Oetker UK has marked an arrangement to purchase The Schwan Food Company's European frozen pizza business.

The arrangement, which incorporates the Chicago Town brand, will see Dr Oetker gain the organization's UK pizza plant, Schwan's business in 15 European nations, and licenses for the Freschetta and Tony's brand names.

Schwan said it will zero in favoring the "proceeded with improvement" of its North American business in the future.

Dr Oetker will incorporate the UK pizza market plant, Leyland into its UK division.

A representative for Dr Oetker told just-food: "Dr Oetker's solidarity in the UK has been based on both natural and procurement across UK and Europe in every one of the classifications and markets we work in."

The pizza plant, which Schwan worked in Osterweddingen close to Magdeburg, Germany, in 1998 is to be obtained by Freiberger Group. The organization concluded a stock concurrence with Dr Oetker to fabricate marked pizza items to sell across Europe.

Freiberger Group will proceed with creation in Osterweddingen.
